To be combined with all desserts with chocolate starting from Modigliana chocolate dessert, tenerina, pampepato, seasoned Asiago, tart with sour cherries. This wine is made with overripe grapes which are hand picked normally at the very end of the season (end of October/beginning of November). The grapes are then let to dry on wooden boards until completely dry and then are regenerated and aged in stainless steel tank for 24th months before bottling and released to the market.

Tasting Notes

Grapes: Sangiovese

Color: Dark Intense Red

Aroma: This Sangiovese from overripe grapes is the surprise of the Terre della Pieve winery. The nose is all a whirlwind of small red berries, strawberries, pepper, juniper, mint, chocolate and sour cherries in alcohol.

Taste: On the palate it flows compact, warm and round, with adequate acidity to support all these so tempting suggestions. The tannins are there and they do their duty, they are dense and extremely docile, but with a few more years we will see an incredible evolution.
